banned booksWith Brian Murdoch

This two-hour presentation will provide a glimpse of the history of works which have been censored or banned, together with a consideration of some of the common themes underlying such actions.  Specific titles will be used to illustrate the phenomenon, with books ranging in theme from classic literature to books for children.

About Brian Murdoch

Brian, and his wife, Ann, have been the owners of Murdoch’s Bookshoppe since 1993.  Since the close of their ‘bricks-and-mortar’ shop in 2013, the focus of their selection has been on out-of-print, rare and antiquarian books, primarily non-fiction. He has participated by invitation in all of the recent Vancouver Book Fairs, and sold books all over the word.  Both his father and his father-in-law were book dealers, so the love of books may be genetic in origin!
